John Henderson Memorial Invitational Soccer Tournament

10 Most Asked Questions

 

  1. The tournament is sponsored by the London United Competitive Soccer Club and runs August 30th, 31st, and September 1st , 2008. All games are played in the north-east end of the city of London, Ontario. Team registration is Friday evening August 29th (time and location to be announced), games begin 8:00 am on Saturday August 30th, 2008.
  2. The tournament is open to competitive teams only!
  3. The registration fee is $325.00 Canadian registration deadline is August 1, 2008. Don't be LATE!!!!
  4. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Pool play will run Saturday, August 30th and Sunday, August 31st. Semi final games will be played EITHER late Sunday, or Monday.
    ALL FINAL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON MONDAY
  5. Specifics:
    Teams from outside the region MUST supply a valid and authorized travel permit - NO EXCEPTIONS! If you are unfamiliar with Travel Permits, and unsure if you need one - please contact your league office for clarification or contact the tournament committee.

    Teams are allowed 3 guest players. A guest player is a player who is not on your team and not a member of your club. All guest players MUST have player cards and temporary player permit with them - to be presented when registering your team. A team is also allowed to "call up" players from within their own club, providing they are of legal age for the division - however, player cards must be presented at registration. House league or select guest players who do not have player cards must have a photocopy of their birth certificate, photo, written note of authorization from both their coach and parents. These documents must also be available for inspection at team registration.

    Teams falsifying documents or using illegal or over age players will be ejected from the tournament - no exceptions!

    A coach or team representative will be responsible for registering the team on Friday, August 31 (time and location t.b.a.). At this time, ALL missing documentation must be provided. All rosters must be completed and turned in. All player'' cards must be available for inspection. Teams will NOT be allowed to play unless all of their documentation is complete - no exceptions!
  6. Divisions are as follows:
    • BOYS U9 - U19
    • GIRLS U9 -U19
      *Note: If registrations require U18/U19 divisions may be combined (t.b.d. by the tournament committee). Teams affected will be notified of any changes.
      * Trophies for first AND second placed teams *
  7. Team and fields allotments as follows: U9 & U10 - play 7 aside - regulation mini fields U11 and up - 11 aside - full size fields
  8. Last year's attendance : 203 teams. This year we anticipate over 200 teams - to avoid disappointment, please get your registration forms in early!!!

  9. This is a Superclubs Qualifying Tournament. The top FOUR teams in each age division will be invited to participate in the 2008 Superclubs Final Tournament held in Orlando, Florida. Attendance at this prestigious tournament is restricted to only qualifying, invited teams. The Henderson is one of only two qualifying tournaments in Canada.
