In
1793, Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe
first surveyed the Forks of the Thames and proposed
to build "New London" here as the capital of
Upper Canada. Although the capital was eventually
built elsewhere, London has grown into the largest
city in Southwestern Ontario, and one of the
loveliest cities in Canada. With miles of beautiful
pathways and acres of rolling parkland, London
truly is the Forest City. Low traffic, easy
air access and friendly people make London a
perfect place to visit.
